We've had quite the adventure over the last few days. We got a bad snow/ice storm here early last week-they even closed the university. Wednesday our power had been flickering all day and it finally went out for good around 6. We called the power company and were told that our power would be back on Saturday around 8pm. So, we got a hotel in Athens for the night. The first night did not go well...babies were up late, sleeping in a new place, sleeping in their pack n play instead of their bed-they both eventually ended up in bed with mom. The next night we tried to get a hotel in Athens but no rooms were available. We then tried to head for Michigan to stay with my sister...it did not go well-babies crying and mom and dad were both tired. So we ended up staying in a hotel in Columbus for the next 2 nights. We found out that our power came back on Friday night and headed home Saturday morning. It was very nice to be home!
Some other updates-
at their 4 month check up Jack weighed 13lbs 4oz and Mackenzie weighed 12lbs 3oz. They were both in the 25th percentile for their age. Jack was in the 75th percentile for head size-his head is so big to hold his big brain :-)
Jack one day decided he was ready to roll over-since then we've been working with both of them rolling back to front. Mackenzie gets almost all the way but just needs some extra umph.
Babies are both doing well with solids-Jack devours his and Mackenzie takes it a little slower.
Mackenzie seems to be doing OK with her reflux. Unfortunately she has gotten to the point where we have to feed her while she is asleep, she will not take a bottle while awake. This problem slowly evolved as she would occasionally take a bottle while awake but now will not accept it at all. Our GI is reffering us to a speech pathologist as well as an occupational therapist for feeding therapy so that we can get this problem under control right away. What a nightmare!
